In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 social networking apps in Spain demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Below, we detail the performance of each app.

WhatsApp Messenger started strong with 163K downloads in the first week of January, followed by a dip to 84K in early February. The app saw a resurgence towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 115K downloads in the last week of March. Active users remained consistently high, starting at 29.2M and climbing to 29.6M by the end of March.

Telegram Messenger experienced a notable rise in weekly downloads, starting at 68K and peaking at 132K in mid-March. Active users also showed an upward trend, beginning at 4.1M and reaching 4.4M by the end of the quarter.

Facebook had steady download numbers, starting at 71K in late December and fluctuating around the 50K-60K mark throughout the quarter. The app's revenue varied, peaking at approximately $16.7K at the end of January. Active users showed a slight increase from 22.2M at the start to 22.2M by the end of March.

noteit - best friends widget saw a significant spike in downloads, starting from a mere 126 in mid-January to a peak of 83K in early February. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from 122 to 171K by the end of March.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily began with 30K downloads in late December, peaking at 137K in early January, and then stabilizing around 20K-27K downloads per week. Active users increased steadily from 128K to 276K by the end of March.
